Professional Seminars
Seminar A
Basic Personal Strengths
This seminar employs the categories of the Enneagram, an extremely useful way to consider one's personal
view of life and the world. Participants have found it to be absolutely life-changing. They often take the
materials home to share with their spouses and life partners. It is ideal for everyone serving your company in
a senior management position.
Target Audience: Senior management personnel at all levels, including executives.
Note: After the senior staff has experienced this seminar, many companies offer it to lower
level personnel as well.
Outcomes & Objectives:
- Each manager becomes more aware of his or her own personal philosophy and
management style – and how it affects others.
- Once aware, each manager also learns how to grow professionally in order to
- work more collaboratively with others
- achieve more aggressive professional goals
- be happier in his or her work.
- Most people are generally already aware of personal philosophy and style but this
seminar provides a clear language with which to describe it.
- The result of this seminar is
- more clear thinking
- more open communications among key leaders
- fewer missed opportunities – which almost always result from poor
communications
- and long term commitment to the corporate mission and tasks.
Length: 16 hours
Contents:
- A basic introduction to understanding how we humans view the world around us and
how we craft our own personal philosophy or “view of the world.”
- The impact this world view has on our professional lives.
- The nine basic ways to view the world, each explained in detail.
- Personal integration of the material and implications for our workplace.
- Evaluation.
Comments from past participants:
I learned so much about myself and how I work with others! I guess I had a blind side I
never knew about!

lighter and more able to work with confidence.
President, major health care system
I wish I had experienced this Basic Strengths seminar much earlier in my professional
career. Even though I’ve risen through the ranks at my firm, I can clearly see now how
much my view of the world colored my entire approach.

I’ve always suspected there is more to life than what I’ve experienced in my work! Now I

I have to say: this changed my life. I’m sure I will handle situations in my daily calendar with

Seminar B
Peak Performance
This seminar may well be the most vital of all. It helps individuals see themselves as part of the whole
company. It helps them see how the core team of the company, working together in collaboration, can become
a true "body" or corporation. Even if you are not organized under legal corporate law, this seminar will have a
lasting and immediate effect on your outcomes.
Target Audience: Leaders and managers, especially those who have already experienced a
Basic Personal Strengths seminar.
Outcomes & Objectives:
- Building on the outcomes of the Basic Personal Strengths seminar, here participants
consider how best to
- improve their own communication skills, based on their own worldview and
approach to management
- understand how others communicate
- learn to play to their own strengths in decision-making
- contribute to the corporate mission by choosing avenues which match their
own centers of power and achievement
- Identify areas for each manager where growth may be needed
- Chart the pathways for growth – which results in peak performance as various
obstacles to success are tackled.
Length: 8 hours
Contents:
- Review of the material covered in the Basic Personal Strengths seminar – this is kept
very brief.
- How various roles grow within a company – and how to manage such roles and
growth for maximum gain.
- The chart which shows the more promising ways people can grow in their
professionalism.
- Note: Even though the assumption is that everyone who is present will be a professional at
his or her work, we must never assume that each person has reached the maximum personal
growth which is possible.
Comments from past participants:
Wow! I never thought I would understand so clearly the best steps I can take when I face
difficult people or situations. So much is so clear to me now!
Division Manager, retail firm
Thank you for helping me see how I can grow – it will affect me personally as well as here
at the firm.
Senior Partner, downtown law firm
What I needed most was to be able to understand more fully why I sometimes react the way
I do, but also why my senior staff reacts to crises and challenges in the various ways that
they do. This seminar made it all so clear. Thanks very much.
President, leading private college
I wanted my team to be able to communicate better and help each other through sticky
situations. What I got was that, plus I myself grew tremendously. You’re a very effective
teacher and coach. Thanks.

Seminar C
Effective Meeting Strategies
No one loves a meeting! But after this seminar, your company meetings will become very powerful and
effective. This is very important to the outcomes of a Corporate Philosophy Audit or Review in any
company because such meetings are typically the place where key advice is given to the final decision makers.
If your meetings work well, your company succeeds. If they fail to produce results, your company fails.
Target Audience: Anyone in the company who is responsible for organizing meetings,
whether in person around the same table, or by telephone or Internet. This may include
support staff.
Outcomes & Objectives:
- Understand more fully how meetings are organized.
- Determine the purpose of the meeting, and the level of authority which each meeting
possesses.
- Learn about effective group meeting skills.
- See how easy it is to have an ineffective meeting – and what can be done to never let
than happen again.
- Understand how agendas work and how to develop powerfully effective ones.
- Note: Holding well planned meetings is a real key to corporate growth and success. Poor
meetings not only tire managers, but also result in terrible decision making.
Length: 6 hours
Contents:
- The psychology of the meeting.
- How decisions are reached by a group – the personal, internal process behind
reaching consensus.
- Study the interaction between those being consulted and those on whose desk the
final decision must rest.
- Step-by-step suggestions for organizing effective company meetings.
Comments from past participants:
Oh my goodness! I knew our meetings weren’t working, but never did I realize how much
could get done if we organized them better! It’s too early to say this, but I believe this
seminar has changed my company’s life!
President and Sole Proprietor, regional real estate company
I can see how we may have reached certain decisions in the past, outcomes of meetings
which weren’t well planned or managed, which have hurt us. In the future, we will have
fewer meetings, shorter meetings, but more effective meetings.
CEO, airline industry provider
I’ve always hated meetings, so I was dreading this seminar today. (My boss sent me.)
However, I must say, you made it enjoyable and worthwhile, and I’ll never write my agendas
the same way again!
VP for Corporate Planning, retail clothing firm
Seminar D
Crafting A Clear Corporate Philosophy
Most executives are surprised to learn how little they and their employees know about philosophy, about
corporate philosophical thinking in the areas of ethics, aesthetics, meaning, purpose, human labor, and other
categories. This review helps set the stage for clear thinking within the ranks of your management team.
Target Audience: Senior management personnel at al levels, including executives. All those
consultants, internal and external, who play a role in the development of the corporate
identify and image. Marketing leaders.
Outcomes & Objectives:
Part one:
- Understand clearly how individual managers contribute to the corporate mission and
approach.
- Develop a clear language to describe your company’s position in the market, it’s
public relations challenges, and specific instances where a clear, well-crafted
response can result in a competitive advantage.
- Review the various elements which make us a corporate philosophy, and see how
they fit into your own.
Part two:
- React to and refine possible corporate statements, written by professional writers and
provided based on input in part one.
Length: 16-24 hours, in two separate meetings about three days apart
Contents:
- The elements of solid corporate philosophy or mission statements.
- The various areas of philosophy, and how each plays a role in determining your own
corporate statement.
- The nine possible types of corporate, and which one best fits your company.
Comments from past participants:
I would never have guessed, even from the literature I read beforehand, how important this
seminar would be to us. I can see now what the facilitator said, that failing to articulate one’s
philosophy results in us allowing others to do it for us. Very powerful three days.
COO, retail giant
I believe now that companies who have a clear philosophic strategy have in fact become the
leaders in their sectors. I don’t know how we went so long without having this discussion
ourselves, but I’m glad we did.
VP, Director of Marketing, general retail firm
